The city police had surveyed the closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage installed in two houses near the park from where the boy was kidnapped, but failed to get any lead in the case.
On the basis of inputs from two persons, the police had prepared a sketch of the kidnapper and circulated it at various stations in the region, but even this was of little help.

A police team had also gone to Amritsar after getting some tip-off but had to return empty-handed.
A senior police official said, “We are checking the records of the property business of the victim’s father and his recent dealings.”

He said the boy’s family had not received any ransom call.

On October 12, Gopi was kidnapped outside the Model Town Park where he had gone with his sister Manpree(11).
