Patiala unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday strongly condemned the Gujarat police for detaining Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday.

The party also condemned vandalism by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Lucknow and in Delhi.

Dharamveer Gandhi, AAP candidate from Patiala, warned the BJP against such undemocratic behaviour and acts.

He urged the people to come forward and support their candidates in the country, including Punjab, to usher in a new era of clean politics.

He appealed to the leaders that honest persons from other political parties should come forward for a good, democratic and secular government.

According to AAP workers, a huge rush for membership was observed at the Patiala election office, as more than 700 people of various sections joined the party on Thursday.
