Vice-president of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) and senior Congress leader from Doaba, Col (retd) CD Kamboj is all set to join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Jalandhar Tuesday afternoon.

He will join the party in presence of senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak and state convenor of the party Sucha Singh Chottepur. Kamboj, a staunch supporter of Congress deputy leader in Lok Sabha, Captain Amarinder Singh, had contested 2012 assembly polls on Congress ticket from Shahkot assembly segment of Jalandhar district and was defeated on the hands of SAD stalwart and Transport Minister Ajit Singh Kohar by a margin of over 5,4,00 votes.

“I have decided to leave Congress and join AAP. I don’t see any capacity in Congress to bring Punjab back on track. In this scenario of disillusionment only AAP is a hope and its way of politics has a mass appeal,” said Kamboj, who will address a press conference at 2.30 pm while declaring his resignation from the party.
