Arrested drug peddler had connections with terrorists, say police

Bashir Ahmad served a year and a half in jail after his arrest.

Meanwhile, police on Thursday produced the three -- Bashir Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad Rathar and Riyaz Ahmad Khan -- before a court that extended their police remand by four days.

CIA staff 1 incharge Prem Singh said the police had received information that Bashir had connections with terrorists. Singh said the police were investigating his past and intended to contact Jammu and Kashmir Police to unearth more information.

The three were arrested while they were travelling in a car along with a nine-year-old boy. The boy was sent to a children’s home. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the three at Ladhowal police station.
