Police are verifying the facts and have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused.

The victim told police that she met accused Rajvir Singh two months ago. He allegedly told her that he could secure a job for her in the mining department and told her to come to Samrala on July 26. When she reached there, his accomplice Amarjit Singh took her to a room where she was allegedly served food laced with sedatives.

After she fell unconscious, the two men allegedly raped her. Later, she took a bus to Kirtarpur Sahib in Rupnagar, where she filed a police complaint.

“Initially, the FIR was registered in Kirtarpur Sahib, from where it has been shifted to Samrala as the crime took place here,” said inspector Bhupinder Singh, Samrala station house officer.
