Campaigning in Talwandi Sabo in favour of Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu, The CM tells people that he spent nine days in Talwandi Sabo with all the government machinery just before the announcement of the byelection.
“I gave you money for various projects. Funds for all the projects have already reached. I have given permission for these projects. Though tenders have not been called for the water supply scheme, yet money has already been released for the same. Keep faith in us. Now, I have come to demand votes. I will come to ‘give’ you more after the poll code is lifted,” said Badal.
On Jeet Mohinder’s candidature, the CM surprised many by saying, “We had a plan to take the help of Jeet Mohinder in parliamentary elections without his quitting as an MLA. However, Jeet Mohinder said his conscience did not allow it. It was a big sacrifice he made by resigning.”

To console Amarjit Singh Khanna, SAD candidate against Jeet Mohinder in 2012 polls, the CM said, “I had consulted Amarjit before nominating Jeet Mohinder and he had agreed to it.” “We have deployed so many ministers and Akali leaders here for the campaign. They will also pressurise the government to speed up development here if Jeet Mohinder wins.”

I am the one who pays money for your kundi connections as well as free power for your fields.” “I also know most of you are debtors and your financial condition is not as good as it looks from your clothes. But, it’s Congress that should be blamed for your debts,” he said.
