Irked over chief minister Virbhadra Singh's remarks terming them "bonded labourers", opposition Bharatiya Janata Party's legislators staged a walkout from the Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

As the session commenced, members of the opposition sought an apology over the remark made by the CM outside the house on Monday.

State BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti and 13 other legislators came in the house wearing aprons with Andhra Pradesh-based businessman Vakamulla's name inscribed on them. Vakamulla had earlier filed a defamation suit against Rajya Sabha opposition leader Arun Jaitely, Anurag Thakur and Arun Dhumal.

On the seeing the opposition members wearing the aprons, speaker Brij Behari Butail lost his cool and insisted that the opposition members should not display placards and newspapers in the house.

All legislators of opposition stood up at their seats, and leader of opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal asked the speaker about action that could be taken against the CM for his remark, that had "insulted the elected representatives".
