BJP wants Congress to tender apology over Kamal Nath’s appointment

Condemning the appointment of the 1984 antiSikh riot accused Kamal Nath as the in-charge of Congress affairs in Punjab, former state BJP chief and member of the BJP national executive Kamal Sharma on Monday said the Congress should tender an apology to the people of Punjab.

He also demanded cancellation of Nath’s appointment.

In a release issued here on Monday, Sharma said: “The appointment of Kamal Nath, who is accused of rioting, only reflects that the Congress has no regrets over the 1984 Sikh genocide.” Expressing his dismay over the development, Sharma said it was unfortunate that instead of bringing the guilty to the book, the Congress was rewarding them with plum posts.
