Prolonged traffic jams along the road from New Amritsar to the Golden Temple through the Elevated Road marked the former Punjab chief minister’s arrival to the city.
The violation of the model code of conduct was also evident from wrong placement of banners and hoardings and vehicles parked along the roadside.
Even as the Congress claimed to have kept the vehicles used for the roadshow to the minimum, residents said the rush on the roads was mainly caused by the cavalcade of Amarinder’s vehicles.
When contacted, Ravi Bhagat, district election officercum-deputy commissioner, said so far he had not received any complaint regarding violation of the model code of conduct during the road show of the Congress leader.
