Two unidentified bike-borne men allegedly robbed a car from a woman after pointing a gun at her 7-year-old girl child at Majitha road in Amritsar, on Thursday night.

In his complaint to the police, husband of the woman, Honey Sharma, said, “It was my mother’s birthday on Thursday, for which I went to purchase a cake. The armed robbers pointed a gun at my daughter’s head and asked my wife to abandon the car immediately.”

Fearing for their life, his wife and daughter got off from the car and the robbers fled with the vehicle, he said.

“When I came back from the bakery shop, my wife told me about the whole incident,” he said.

Station house officer (SHO) of Majitha road police post, Avtar Singh, said “Despite wireless alerts and checking at nakas in Amritsar, the robbers managed to flee. We are examining CCTV footage to identify the robbers.”

A case under Section 379 B (snatching and use of force) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against unidentified persons.
