Two buses have been deployed for the service from 6.30 am to 4 pm.

Mahinder Kaur of Bachhitar Nagar, said, “On every Sunday I visit Alamgir. When I was going back today, I saw the city bus standing in front the gurdwara gate and decided to board it. But when I asked the conductor for the ticket, he replied that Sunday’s service was free. It is an appreciable move by the Ludhiana City Bus Service Limited.”

Gurpreet, residing near Gill Chowk, said, “This is a good initiative by the authorities, as with this free service, more people will opt for this mode of transport instead of travelling by private vehicles. My daughter and I took the bus from the Gurdwara till Gill Chowk.”

Another commuter, Hardeep Kaur, said, “Authorities must display a board as people are not aware about this free service.”

Ludhiana City Bus Service Limited manager Baljeet Singh said, “The initiative has been taken so that more people can opt for this mode of transport. As a lot of devotees travel to Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Alamgir, on Sunday, so we decided to provide free facility to residents. If any commuter faces any problem while travelling on the city bus, they can complain on our inquiry number which is 96462-30002.”
