Civic body seals sweet shop for violating building bye-laws
Continuing to clampdown on violators of building bye-laws, the officials of municipal corporation on Saturday sealed the premises of a sweet shop on Ferozepur road. The basement of the shop, Khushi Ram and Sons, measuring about 2,500 square feet, was earmarked for parking in the building plan. However, the owners were using it for commercial purpose for manufacturing sweets.

Assistant town planner Rajinder Sharma said the shop's basement was sealed for violating the norms.
This is the sixth major exercise by the MC officials to check the misuse of parking space in city.
Earlier, premises of Hotel Park Plaza, Hotel Batra, KP Complex, J Sons, Oliva restaurant, all on Ferozepur road, had been sealed for violating the building bye-laws. “The corporation will continue the drive against violators of building bye-laws in the coming days as well,” said an MC official.
