A couple was killed when a speeding truck collided with their motorcycle near Aliwal bypass here on Thursday.

A couple was killed when a speeding truck collided with their motorcycle near Aliwal bypass here on Thursday.

Baljeet Singh, a resident of Chogawan in Amritsar, and wife Gurmeet Kaur were on their way to Batala when the truck coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle, killing the two on the spot. The Aliwal police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to the civil hospital for post-mortem. The police have registered a case against the truck driver and impounded the truck. The driver fled the spot.
