Eid holiday in Punjab, Haryana on Thursday

The Punjab and Haryana governments on Tuesday said the holiday on account of Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed in government offices and educational institutions on Thursday (July 7).

The Punjab and Haryana governments on Tuesday said the holiday on account of Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed in government offices and educational institutions on Thursday (July 7) instead of Wednesday.

Officials said the change was made as there was no probability of sighting of crescent moon on Tuesday night. Eid is observed on the next day of the sighting of moon after Ramzan.

July 6 would now be a working day, said officials.
