The police had booked Parminder and Trikshan under sections 295-A (hurting religious sentiments) and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on June 4.

Station house officer of the division number 1 police station Dharampal said Trikshan was arrested from Modhpura Bazaar on Saturday evening following a tip-off. Trikshan was produced in a court on Sunday that remanded him in a day's police custody.

He said the police had launched a hunt to nab Parminder, who had allegedly torn posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Parminder and his nephew had also made derogatory remarks against Sikh Gurus on social networking sites, following which he was suspended from the party.
