Farmers' land can't be sold at cheaper rates: Bittu

Congress MP Ravneet Singh Bittu has said that the party would protest against the Land Acquisition Bill at Ram Leela ground in Delhi on April 19. "The central government cannot sell the land of the farmers at cheaper rates,"he said.

According to Bittu, "The government is proposing this bill only for the sake of rich class. But Congress will oppose it. The Centre should think about the farming community class as well."

Bittu said the SAD also stands exposed as it favoured the bill in the parliament. "The SAD government has always represented itself as the helper of farmers but in the parliament, their suggestion was against the farming community,"he said.
