Fatehgarh Sahib judges celebrate Earth Day

In a noble way to commemorate the World Earth Day, the judges of the Fatehgarh Sahib sessions division planted saplings in and around the judicial complex and ADR Centre on Wednesday.

In a noble way to commemorate the World Earth Day, the judges of the Fatehgarh Sahib sessions division planted saplings in and around the judicial complex and ADR Centre on Wednesday.

The initiative was taken by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). Sanjeev Berry, district and sessions judge and DLSA chairman, additional district and sessions judge Ajaib Singh and chief judicial magistrate and DLSA secretary along with all the other judges of the took part in the activity.

Berry said such events should be encouraged so that the citizens are kept in touch with problems concerning the environment.

On the occasion, DLSA also conducted a seminar on legal issues pertaining to environment at Baba Zorawar Singh Baba Fateh Singh senior secondary school. A poster-making cum slogan writing competition was also held at the school.

Deepti Gupta interacted with the students of the school for about an hour and apprised them of the problems related to environment such as various types of pollution, depletion of natural resources and danger to wildlife and forests.

Prizes in form of books were distributed to the winners of the competitions. All the students were encouraged to adopt eco-friendly measures for saving and conserving earth.
