Furnishing fake documents for bail lands seven in jail

The city police claimed to have busted a seven-member gang that used to provide surety bonds to secure bail to criminals by submitting fake documents in local courts in the city.

Subhash Chander, station house officer (SHO), Navi Baradari, said acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap at Kamal Palace Chowk and arrested Janak Raj, Sandeep Chauhan, Sarbjeet Singh, Jai Singh, Sukhveer Singh, Inderjeet Singh and Deepak Kumar, all residents of various areas of the city.

He said the police had got the police remand of all accused and other members of the gang would be arrested soon.
