Gurdaspur gang war murder: Vicky Gounder’s four aides sent to police custody

Gurdaspur Central Jail authorities refused to keep the accused and were shifted to the central jail in Ludhiana.

Arrested for killing three members of a rival gang in Gurdaspur on April 20, four members of the gang led by Vicky Gounder, were presented in the court of Chander Hans, civil judge, junior division, in Gurdaspur on Thursday.

Ravinder Singh alias Gyan Singh Kharal of Kharal village was remanded police custody for interrogation till June 27 while the other three accused, Jagroop Singh, Akali sarpanch of Bathungarh under Kathunangal police station in Amritsar district; Manbir Singh alias Sabi, brother of former Gurdaspur Akali MLA Gurbachan Singh Babbehali’s personal assistant Kamaljit Singh and Gagandeep Singh of Kaile Kalan village, were sent to judicial custody till July 6.

Meanwhile, Gurdaspur Central Jail authorities refused to keep the accused and were shifted to the central jail in Ludhiana.

Gang leader Vicky Gounder, Harry Majithia, Sukh Bhikhariwal, Gopi Shampura and Ravinder Singh alias Gyan Kharal had gunned down three members of a rival gang led by Harpreet Singh alias Subedar of Mustafabad Jattan village at Aujla bypass on Kahnuwan road in Gurdaspur on April 20.

The deceased were Harpreet Singh alias Subedar, Sukhchain Singh alias Jatt of Gurdaspur and Sahib Singh of Pull Tibri.
