Heavy rainfall in the Kullu valley caused flood in 100 MW Sainj hydro electric project (HEP) located in Kullu district.

However no loss of human life has been reported so far but authorities have confirmed some loss to the machinery due to rise in water level in the rivulet. Water flooded the tunnel washing out concrete and some machinery. A team of experts are expected to visit on Wednesday to assess the actual loss.
