Ludhiana man arrested for trying to kill 4-yr-old nephew
Shimlapuri police have arrested a man for attempting to kill his 4-year-old nephew (sister’s son).

Police said, the accused, Jaspreet Singh, took along his nephew Jasmeet and then tried to strangle him. Jaspreet has been booked for attempt to murder and abduction.
As the kid lost consciousness, Jaspreet presumed him to be dead and dumped the boy in shrubs near Westend Mall on Ferozepur road on Sunday evening.
However, the child started crying after some time and caught the attention of the passersby. Police were informed and boy’s parents traced.
The boy told the police that his maternal uncle had thrown him on the roadside.
Jaspreet of New Janta Nagar took Jasmeet along from his house in the same locality and when both did not return till night, the family started looking for them.
In the meantime, Jasmeet was found on Ferozepur road and police handed him over to his parents.
Shimlapuri station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector Sanjiv Kapoor said questioning of the accused was on to find out why he made a bid on the boy’s life.
