Man gets 7-year jail for raping minor in Ludhiana
The court of additional sessions sentenced a 40-year-old man to seven years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) on Tuesday, finding him guilty for the rape of a minor girl. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the accused.

Inderjit Singh alias Kaku was employed with a hosiery unit of the victim’s father and was residing in their neighbourhood.
As per the prosecution case, the incident occurred on October 2, 2013 when Kaku lured the 10-year-old girl and her eight-year-old cousin on the pretext of showing them kittens.
The victim’s mother said as the accused was a visitor to the house, the girls did not resist.
The accused then took the girls to his home and asked the younger girl to fetch milk for the kittens. He then raped the other girl.
When the victim’s mother came looking for her daughter, she saw the accused raping her and called the police.
The accused has been convicted under Sections 376, 366A and 4A of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. A fine of Rs 10,000 has also been imposed.
The convict is a widower and has a 19-year-old daughter.
