Man kills son

An argument between a man and his son took an ugly turn with the father, Labh Singh, attacking his 26-year-old son, Jaswinder Singh with a scissor, leading to his death in Sunam, 15 km from here.Investigation officer Satnam Singh said the police had registered an FIR on the charges of murder against Singh on a complaint from the victim's wife, Sharanjit.

Investigation officer Satnam Singh said the police had registered an FIR on the charges of murder against Singh on a complaint from the victim's wife, Sharanjit.

Sources said that Labh Singh and his wife had returned from the funeral of a close relative and the victim apparently confronted them on the reason for not informing him about the tragedy. The argument turned nasty and the accused apparently brought out a scissor to attack his son, but daughter-in-law Sharanjit intervened and was injured. When the victim tried to confront the accused, Singh aimed the scissor at the victim's neck, killing him instantly.

The IO added that the accused had confessed to his crime and did not try to flee.
