Man, son arrested for running illegal LPG-gas filling point

The anti-narcotic and anti-illicit liquor smuggling wing on Friday arrested a man and his son for running illegal LPG-gas filling station for autos. The police recovered 31 gas cylinders from their house and the motor used to fill the gas.

The anti-narcotic and anti-illicit liquor smuggling wing on Friday arrested a man and his son for running illegal LPG-gas filling station for autos. The police recovered 31 gas cylinders from their house and the motor used to fill the gas.

A case under Section 7 of Essential Commodities Act has been registered against the accused at Salem Tabri police station.

The accused have been identified as Lakshman Parshad (50) and his son Tarkeshwar Yadav (25) of Gurnam Nagar of Jassian Road. The accused runs a grocery shop in the area.

Parshad used to fill LPG gas illegally in the cylinders using electric pump from domestic LPG cylinders. Sub-inspector Harbans Singh, incharge, anti-narcotic and anti-illicit liquor smuggling wing said the police have been investigating that from where the accused used to procure gas cylinders. He said more arrests were possible in the case. He also suspected involvement of employees of gas agencies in the crime.
