A PSEB team led by district education officer (secondary) Inderjit Singh inspected the centre and recovered copying material and blank papers from the examinees in large numbers. The team also recovered a photostat copy of the question paper from a woman supporter of an examinee outside the examination centre.

Inderjit Singh spoke over the phone to the PSEB chairman and the director general of school education, recommending cancellation of the examination centre for all the remaining examinations. The DEO also sought departmental action against the supervisory staff of the examination centre, where 297 students were taking the examination, for allegedly allowing the students to use unfair means.
