Nawanshahr: Woman, daughter killed in road accident

In yet another road accident, a 26-year-old woman and her three-month-old daughter were crushed to death after a bike on which she was travelling with her husband collided with a truck in Ansro village at Nawanshahr-Chandigarh highway on Friday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Amandeep Kaur (26) and her daughter Gaganjot Kaur of Bhartgarh village in Ropar district.

The injured have been identified as Amandeep's husband Hardeep Singh (31), his son Lovepreet Singh (4) and nephew Kulwinder Singh (10). They were going to Ropar from Railmajra village of Nawanshahr district, while the truck was going to Kurali from Amritsar.

The Ansro police have arrested truck driver Amandeep Singh of Takrali village in Ropar district and a case under various Sections of IPC has been registered against him.
