The inauguration of Abohar-Fazilka rail line, covering 42.89 km, will also mean economic progress for the area. Speaking on the occasion, Muniyappa said the rail line would not only mean direct connectivity for travellers, but also provide better logistics option. Regarding the other demands of the locals, the minister assured that they would be studied.
Ferozepur MP Sher Singh Gubaya, Abohar MLA and Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar, minister of forests and wild life, labour Surjit Jyani, Congress MLA Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi were also present, besides a battery of senior railway officers.
