
Obscene video: 5 held for extortion, threatening 70-yr-old man in Moga
The Badhni Kalan police booked five persons under the charges of extortion on Saturday.
The accused allegedly threatened a 70-year-old man to make his obscene video viral if the latter failed to give Rs 2 lakhs as ransom.
The accused persons have been identified as Raju, Vinod Kumar, Pammi, Shaipli and Rano.
The victim, a resident of Dodhar Sharki village near Ajitwal town here in his first information report (FIR) stated that he was at the religious place Baba Maheshmuni Borewala in Badhni Kalan.
While he was paying obeiseance four persons including two men and two women asked him to help them in taking Pammi to the hospital due to sudden deterioration of her health.
“On humanity grounds, I agreed to take her to the hospital but all the five accused took me at an isolated home in Raikot and forcibly made an obscene video of me with accomplice Rano,” victim stated.
He said that after making the video the accused demanded a ransom of Rs 2 lakh threatening to make the video viral.
On the complaint of the victim, the Badhni Kalan police registered a case under Sections 384 (punishment of extortion) and 120B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
