After remaining cooped up inside their homes in the extreme cold on Friday, a number of denizens could be seen basking in Saturday’s mild sunshine. However, the maximum temperature recorded on January 18 stood at 13.6 degrees, while the minimum temperature was around 8.4 degrees. The city received 2.4 mm of rainfall on the intervening night of January 17 and 18.

The MET office has predicted generally cloudy sky and rain or thundershowers for Amritsar on January 18, besides partly cloudy skies for January 19, 21 and 22. However, mainly clear skies have been predicted for January 20.
