PAU to host seminar on 'atomic energy for sustainable agriculture'

Under the wings of Babha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), a seminar on 'Atomic energy for sustainable agriculture and happiness' will take place at Pal Auditorium in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on September 9 from 10 am onwards.

Padma Shree awardee S P Kale will be the chief guest at the event and will also lead the seminar.

Post the seminar, PAU vice-chancellor, Baldev Singh Dhillon, will inaugurate an exhibition of BARC

technologies. The exhibition will showcase technologies such as nuclear desalination, bhabhtron, hydrogel, information kiosks, new seed varieties, nuclear medicines, domestic technology for purification of drinking water, irradiated samples of vegetables, food grains, spices, etc. J S Dhiman, additional director research added that besides the seminar, there will be scientific deliberations by expert speakers from BARC namely, SV Thakre, Archana Joshi and SK Gupta, said RK Singh, head media relations of BARC.
