Pro-Khalistan groups hold demonstration outside UN headquarters

Pro-Khalistan groups have held a demonstration outside the UN headquarters calling on the world body to support a referendum for “self-determination”.

A delegation of Sikh activists also submitted to UN officials a report ‘A Case For Punjab Referendum 2020 - Sikhs Right to Self-Determination - Why and How?’.

The report by advocacy group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), addressed to secretary general Antonio Guterres, urged the UN to support the demand of Sikhs for holding a referendum in Punjab for “realisation of their right to self-determination”.
