Bathinda bus blaze: Punjab CM Amarinder Singh announces Rs 1 lakh compensation for deceased

Expressing grief over the incident, Punjab chief minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh announced Rs 1 lakh compensation to the family of the deceased persons in the Ramphula bus fire mishap.

He also announced a compensation of Rs 25,000 for the injured persons. The CM directed the district authorities to initiate a thorough investigation into the incident and fix culpability.

He further asked the transport department, which is already working on a new transport policy for the state, to take into account all factors to ensure a stringent safety mechanism for vehicles, especially buses, plying on the roads.
