Punjab govt launches ‘Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme’ for meritorious students

After approval from chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the scheme was launched by Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and technical education minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

The Punjab government launched the “Chief Minister Scholarship Scheme” on Tuesday to provide technical education to meritorious and poor students.

After approval from chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the scheme was launched by Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal and technical education minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Punjab students studying in government polytechnic and engineering colleges, including Maharaja Ranjit Singh University, Bathinda, and Inder Kumar Gujaral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar, will benefit from the scheme, said Channi.

Under the scheme, students scoring 60-70% marks in Class 10 will get 70% fee waiver, 80% fee waiver for those getting between 70% and 80% marks and 90% for those scoring 80-90% marks. Students with 90-100% marks will get free education, said Channi.
