Expressing confidence, Anurag said he had “firm faith” in the electorate of the Hamirpur parliamentary segment, but added that in the electoral battlefield, rivals “cannot be taken lightly”.

“I am all set to retain the seat with the blessings of the people of the constituency and active support by the party cadre,” he said. He added that he would prevail over his rival Rana.

Anurag who has been campaigning in various assembly segments of the parliamentary constituencies, said Narendra Modi’s wave was sweeping across the nation and he would lead the country after the results are announced.

“Electorates across the country are highly disenchanted with the United Progressive Alliance’s rule and the Congress’s anti-people policies will go in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party,” Thakur added. “People have lost confidence in chief minister Virbhadra Singh’s government in the last one year,” he said.

“This government was busy targeting the BJP and its leaders, especially the family of Prem Kumar Dhumal, but the people of the state know who their real benefactor is and will vote for the party that has been working for them,” he claimed.

Thakur added that the “youth brigade” of the country, particularly Himachal Pradesh, would play a major role in the Lok Sabha elections, as “they were cheated by the Congress every time”. He added that the BJP worked for farmers, women and youths.
