Residents stage protest against demolition

Residents of Ansal Bachiter Enclave on Bhamian Road staged protest against the municipal corporation (MC) at its Zone-B office on Wednesday. The residents alleged that the building branch team demolished a structure in a park of their area that was not under MC.

A resident, Rajesh Khanna, accused the MC officials of not issuing any notice to them before demolishing the structure. This structure was raised for an operator, who looked after the water tank there.

“It is wrong, as how the officials can take action when the area is not even under the MC's jurisdiction,” he claimed.

Residents met zonal commissioner Kamlesh Bansal and demanded inquiry and action against the officials concerned.
