Senior police officer's kin among three booked for murder

Police today booked three persons, including a relative of a senior police officer in Punjab, in connection with the death of a constable.

The deceased constable Achhar Ram succumbed to bullet injuries on way to a hospital last evening. The police have registered a case against Balwant Singh, father-in-law of IG administration Kuldip Singh and his sons Harjodh Singh and Kultar Singh.

His family members demanded registration of a case against Balwant Singh and his two sons for their alleged attempt to implicate constable Ram in a false case of theft and killing him at local civil hospital.

They alleged that Balwant Singh and his sons leveled theft charges on Ram for which he was being interrogated since June 27.
