
Seven booked in two dowry harassment cases
Cases of harassment for dowry have been registered at the women police station here against as many as seven people on complaints by two women married in Muktsar and Ferozepur districts.
In the first case, based on a complaint by Jaswinder Kaur of Jogi Nagar here, the police have booked Parvinder Singh, father-in-law of the complainant, and mother-in-law Hamir Kaur and her husband Pritam Singh, residents of Blahad village, sister in-law Reenu from Guddi village and Meenu, a resident of Doda village, all the three villages in Muktsar district. All have been booked under section 498 A of IPC.
In the second case, the police have registered a case against Manpreet Singh and Meena Kaur, both residents of Ferozepur under section 498 A of IPC. Gurmit Kaur, a resident of Naruana road had complained in this connection.
