Nikhil Ganju, country manager of the private travel firm TripAdvisor, which conducted the annual survey and posted the results on its website, said, “The travellers’ choice list offers a getaway for those looking for respite from the rising mercury.

It is a mix of properties in hill stations, ranging from chain hotels to standalone boutique lodgings, which would suit every budget.”

Other properties in Himachal that made it to the list include Mahasu House in Mashobra (fifth), The Oberoi Cecil in Shimla (sixth), Grand View Hotel in Dalhousie (seventh), Park Residency Hotel in Manali (ninth), Snow Peak Retreat Manali (tenth) and Chapslee in Shimla (fourteenth).

The list of India’s top 15 hill station lodgings include The Shiva Blues Cafe (Disha Cottage) in Manali, Upadhyay Cottages in Kullu and Tree Hill Cottages in Manali.

As another travel survey said at least 95% of Indians were planning to travel domestically this year, Himachal has much to rejoice about.
