Short-circuit paralyses work at DTO for hours

Services were paralysed for hours at the district transport office (DTO) on Tuesday due to an electric short-circuit in the building.

Services were paralysed for hours at the district transport office (DTO) on Tuesday due to an electric short-circuit in the building.

Applicants harassed such as licence formation process was suspended for about five hours.

No work was conducted at various counters, including high-security number plates, clicking of picture for licences. The applicants waited for many hours and then went to deputy commissioner Varun Roojam to complain about this.

They also raised slogans against the administration and the government for causing harassment to them.

District Transport Officer Paramjeet Singh said the short-circuit took place due to heavy electricity load at the administrative complex.
