Start construction of Ambedkar Bhawan by Dec 6 or face stir, warns committee

The Dr BR Ambedkar Sangarsh Committee has issued an ultimatum to the Punjab government to start the construction work of Dr Ambedkar Bhawan, Ludhiana, by December 6 failing which they will protest and launch an agitation.

Committee convener Ramanjit Lali said this at a press conference held at circuit house, Ludhiana. He said chief minister Parkash Singh Badal had announced to give Rs 1 crore for the construction of the bhawan around one-and-a-half years ago and former cabinet minister Heera Singh Gabria had laid the foundation stone around one year ago and had assured that work would be completed within nine months.

He said if the government failed to start the construction work by December 6 they would hold protests and launch an agitation.
