Strike: Haryana govt to terminate services of contractual staff

Haryana government has initiated tough measures to deal with the January 21 strike by employees of Power Utilities, public health, health and other departments. Top officials handling the issue said that the state government has issued directions to the deputy commissioners and superintending engineers(SE) of Power Utilities to terminate the contracts of contractual employees in the event of their striking work and appoint their replacements.

Haryana government has initiated tough measures to deal with the January 21 strike by employees of Power Utilities, public health, health and other departments. Officials said a similar measures has also been set in motion for around 8,000 contractual employees of Haryana Roadways who went on strike from Monday.

Even as formal talks between government and union leaders were on till late Monday night, authorities dealing with the roadways union were optimistic that the roadways strike will be called off by Tuesday early morning.
