According to police information accused Surender (23) of Jagatsukh village here in 2013 had promised the victim to marry her. When the accused tried to avoid the victim by refusing to marry her, the victim lodged a police complaint.

On Tuesday, police arrested the accused from his home and will produce him before a court on Wednesday to seek a police remand. Manali deputy superintendent of police Puran Chand confirmed the case and said investigations was going on.
