Tributes paid to former V-C of Punjabi varsity
Punjabi University will start the Dr Bhagat Singh Memorial Lecture in Agriculture Economics as a regular feature, Jaspal Singh, vice-chancellor of Punjabi University, said while paying tributes to former V-C Dr Bhagat Singh during his 'bhog' ceremony at Gurdwara Singh Sabha here on Sunday.
Punjabi University will start the Dr Bhagat Singh Memorial Lecture in Agriculture Economics as a regular feature, Jaspal Singh, vice-chancellor of Punjabi University, said while paying tributes to former V-C Dr Bhagat Singh during his 'bhog' ceremony at Gurdwara Singh Sabha here on Sunday.
Bhagat Singh breathed his last on June 21. He had remained DPI (colleges), Punjab, besides serving two terms as vice-chancellor of Punjabi University.
Besides the university, Government Mohindra College in collaboration with its Old Students Association has decided to raise a memorial gate on the Lower Mall of the city to pay tributes to its former principal Bhagat Singh. College principal Sukhbir Singh Thind said students' reading room in the college library has been named as the Dr Bhagat Singh reading room.
