Truck mows down toddler
A recklessly driven truck allegedly mowed down a one-year-old boy in Shimlapuri on Monday night. The driver, identified as Ravinder Singh of Dashmesh Nagar at Gill Road, was nabbed by passers-by and handed over to the police.

A recklessly driven truck allegedly mowed down a one-year-old boy in Shimlapuri on Monday night. The driver, identified as Ravinder Singh of Dashmesh Nagar at Gill Road, was nabbed by passers-by and handed over to the police.
In his complaint, Kaju Kumar of Shimlapuri, said his son, Raj Kumar, was playing in the street, when the recklessly driven truck ran over his son.
After the incident, the driver tried to flee the spot, but people huddled there nabbed him and handed him over to the police.
Inspector Raj Kumar, station house officer (SHO) at Shimlapuri police station, said a case under section 279 (reckless driving) and 304-A (causing death due to negligence) had been registered against the accused.
