Two-day workshop at engg college

A two-day workshop on “Role of optimisation technique for research application” began at the Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College(GNDEC), Gill Park, on Thursday. The workshop, which has been organised by the college’s production engineering (PE) department, is being sponsored by the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) of the ministry of human resource development.

Sandeep Grover delivered the inaugural address after inaugurating the function in which over 50 faculty members and research scholars from GNDEC are participating.

Introducing the workshop, its coordinator Prof Rupinder Singh focused on the role of optimisation technique for research application in engineering. Experts MS Bhatti from Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar, and JS Dureja from Punjabi University, Patiala, besides faculty from the institute delivered expert talks during the workshop.

Prof JS Grewal, head of PE department welcomed the guests. College’s officiating director JN Jha lauded the efforts of PE department in organising the workshop.
