Two inmates of Rupnagar jail suffer breast cancer

Two inmates of the district jail in Rupnagar were found to have been suffering from breast cancer during a routine physical examination.

Two inmates of the district jail in Rupnagar were found to have been suffering from breast cancer during a routine physical examination. Civil surgeon Dr Sham Lal Mahajan said that as per the directions of the state government to provide better healthcare facilities to the female inmates of the jails, a doctor visits the district jail once a week.

He said that last week, pathologist Dr RP Kaur visited the jail and examined the inmates. Eight inmates were found to have the possibility of cancer, and finally two were found afflicted. He said he has written to the jail authorities to get their treatment done from the hospital.
