UHRO demands vigilance probe into Pungrain tenders row

The Universal Human Rights Organisation (UHRO) demanded vigilance probe into the Punjab State Grains Procurement Corporation Ltd (Pungrain), Jagraon tenders row. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Satnam Singh Dhaliwal, chairman, UHRO said, the agency had not followed the rules while inviting the tenders for lifting of crops.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Satnam Singh Dhaliwal, chairman, UHRO said, the agency had not followed the rules while inviting the tenders for lifting of crops.

Dhaliwal said the tenders for the procurement centre Jagraon for the year 2013-14 that were opened at Bachat Bhawan, Ludhiana, on April 5, were not according to the government's norms.

He also alleged that the officers of agencies wanted to favour a particular firm.

Advisor of the organization, advocate Kushaldeep Singh Sidhu, vice-president Deepak Sabharwal, finance secretary Manjit Singh Lotey, Surinder Singh Saimbi, Darshan Singh Dhaliwal and Ravinder Singh were also present in the press conference.
