Undertrial escapes, 3 cops booked

An undertrial fled from police custody when he was admitted to a hospital for treatment. The accused, Krishan Kumar, a resident of Chheharta, escaped by breaking the window of a toilet in the hospital.

The accused, Krishan Kumar, a resident of Chheharta, escaped by breaking the window of a toilet in the hospital. The Amritsar city police have booked the accused along with three cops on duty head constables Bachitter Singh, Jaswinder Singh and Sawinder Singh.

Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Daljit Kumar, who is investigating the matter, said, "A case has been registered under sections 223 and 224 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the civil lines police station. Efforts are being made to arrest the accused."
