The minister, on his maiden visit to the ICP, said, "This was a long pending visit. I wanted to come here and see the working of the ICP. I could not even come to its inauguration."
On a query on smuggling into India and the absence of scanners in the ICP, he said, "I have been told that the scanners will soon be installed as the tenders have been floated." The minister also visited the Border Observation Post (BOP) Rajataal in the Attari sector and had a look at the fence and the floodlights at the border. Earlier in the day, the minister met BFS officials, Customs and the managers at the Central Warehousing and sought to know the workings of the ICP.
