Veteran soldier’s 100th birthday celebrated
The Vajra Corps on Tuesday celebrated the 100th birthday of veteran soldier Kashmira Singh at his residence in Model Town. The wheelchair-bound veteran was greeted by a team of Vajra Corps led by General Officer Commanding (GOC)Lt Gen Ashwini Kumar Bakshi.

The Vajra Corps on Tuesday celebrated the 100th birthday of veteran soldier Kashmira Singh at his residence in Model Town.
The wheelchair-bound veteran was greeted by a team of Vajra Corps led by General Officer Commanding (GOC)Lt Gen Ashwini Kumar Bakshi.
A birthday cake was cut by Kashmira Singh in presence of his family members. The GOC Vajra Corps presented him a memento and a shawl. Singh’s younger daughter Surinder Jaswal was present with her husband. Major Kashmira Singh participated in the 1947 Indo-Pak war, Indo-China war in 1962 and Indo-Pak War of 1965. He had an illustrious career spanning three decades.
